Kiwano or known as horned melon / thorny cucumber is a fruit that originates from the African continent. This fruit is still one family with melons, cucumbers and watermelons. The shape is unique, oval with pointed protrusions on the skin. The length is around 10 to 15 cm. If split, the flesh is green like jelly. At first glance it looks like passion fruit, because of the many seeds contained in the fruit flesh. The texture is soft and mild in the mouth, and the seeds are smooth white like cucumber and safe to eat. This fruit is eaten just like that, can be made juice or cut as a cake decoration and dessert. This Kiwano tastes sweet a little sour like a combination of banana, cucumber and lemon.
